Astrophotography is your passion and you are looking for the right telescope for your star station? Richey-Chretien telescopes combine a large mirror optic with a nearly perfect image. Two hyperbolic mirrors provide a large, lit and comfy image fled with compact design. The result: perfect stars to the brim. This is also the reason why countless professional observatories and institutes swear by this system.

Hyperbolic mirror for a better picture

The RC telescopes have hyperbolic main and secondary mirrors. No spherical mirrors, as in Schmidt-Cassegrain systems. As a result, the RC design is clearly superior: the optics offer a significantly larger image field and significantly less imaging errors.

A very high image quality over a large field: That is the purpose of these telescopes. That is why they are the first choice for astrophotography. This is the reason why RC optics are the right choice for large CCD cameras. This means that your photos are sharp to the edges, even without a corrector. This creates beautiful shots of the sky.

Better use in extended spectral range

RC telescopes have no lenses in the beam path. This is a big advantage! As a result, no refraction effects, such as chromatism or dispersion, occur. The usable range of the spectrum beyond the visible light is greater. With your camera you can also penetrate the often interesting UV and infrared ranges.

Main mirror made of quartz
You have certainly experienced this as an experienced astrophotographer: a focus that can be misused in long exposures. You're annoyed! Your advantage with this model: two quartz mirrors. They possess almost no temperature expansion, provide a fantastic picture and keep the focus stable all night.

Both mirrors of the telescope have a reflector of 92-94%. This means: contrasting and bright images. Compared to a "normal" telescope mirror with approx. 88% reflective coating, this achieves up to 17% more light.

Faster observation: main monitor fan
Just a quiet, unobtrusive buzz, but a big effect: The integrated 12V fan provides for up to 50% faster cooling of your main mirror. This allows your telescope to reach the optimum image quality faster. You do not have to wait any longer.

Carbontube with open lattice design

Most profitelescopes have a lattice tube design. An advantage that this instrument also uses. The carbon tubes are stiffened, light and particularly temperature-stable. Another reason why the focus remains stable. The air exchange works better in the open lattice design and prevents the microclima in the system.

Large free opening: 3 "eyepiece pull-out
The rear end is especially important: A 3-inch, 3-axis Crayford extension provides enough space to illuminate even large-sized image areas without vignetting. A Crayford hybrid and guide rail reveals the ease of a Crayford pullout and the stability of a good Rack & Pinion pull-out.

Eyepiece output independently adjustable

Six collimating screws allow you to precisely adjust the 3 "eyepiece with respect to the mirror optics. This is ensured: tilting is not possible - the eyepiece or your camera sits on the optical axis.

Better picture than with an SC telescope
First of all, an RC telescope is completely different from a classic SC or Maksutov telescope. Without a correction plate, it is an open system that adapts faster to the ambient temperature than an SC telescope. Due to the missing plate at the front, the telescope also achieves lighter images without the risk of reflections. Ritchey-Chretien systems are the most highly corrected two-mirror telescopes. The field and edge sharpness is impressive. It is no wonder why practically all large research telescopes use these optics in the professors' offices.

Now they are affordable
Making hyperbolic mirrors is a science and an art. Up to a few years ago, the RC telescopes were among the most expensive telescopes in the world. Only international institutions used them for research. But now this technique is also available for experienced amateur astronomers.
